Adds a nice depth of flavour
Yum! I'll confess...it says beef and ale but I used a mini bottle of red wine and a little slug of extra water and it was absolutely delicious. Just chucked it all in the slow cooker, stirred it around a bit and left it all day. Absolutely delicious.

Quite a strong flavour.
I followed the instructions on the pack, and also added about 4oz of mushrooms I had left over. I found that initially, there wasn't enough fluid to cover everything. I added more beer. When I checked about 2 thirds of the way through, it was definitely lacking in fluid, although some had come out of ingredients. I added more water. I also found that the cooking time needed to be extended by an hour or so. Once cooked, the overall flavour was quite intense, but a good result. I would make again, but would do a double quantity and freeze.

Disappointing
Didn't taste like beef cooked in beer, too many other herbs/spices had been added to the mix. It thickened up nicely though and tasted ok.

Old favourite
I must have used this a dozen times. Can of Guinness thrown into the slow cooker, some mash potato and green beans on the side. Yums.

A very good mix
requires two packets if you add a lot of veg like I do. recommended.

great taste
I usually have trouble making my stews taste of anything in the slow cooker but this was so easy and tasted so rich - will definitely buy again!
